Mission Statement
Healthy Greene is a community partnership dedicated to promoting wellness and improving the health and quality of life for all Greene County residents.

Priority Areas/Objectives
  • Health Promotion (Nutrition and Physical Activity): Increase support and opportunities for community members to engage in healthy lifestyle behaviors (physical fitness and recreation, and nutrition and healthy diet) within and across schools, businesses and organizations.
  • Injury (Motor Vehicle Injury and Child Passenger Safety): Increase the public's awareness regarding the high number of deaths and injuries caused by motor vehicle crashes, and to increase the use of seat belts among everyone.
Programs/Initiatives

1. Walking trail located on the campus of Snow Hill Primary School.
2. Walking for Blue Sticks is an incentive program for the students and teachers at Snow Hill Primary School. Blue sticks are turned in to the guidance counselor, and the class is rewarded with a popcorn party.
3. "Buckle Up, It's the Law" signs have been placed along the major highways entering Greene County, and "We Need You, Buckle Up" signs have been placed at each school.
4. Free Child Passenger Safety Seat Clinics are held throughout the county (approximately 4 times per year).
5. Healthy Greene also serves as Greene County's Local Physical Activity and Nutrition Coalition.
