| Pitt Partners for Health is a Community Health Improvement
Partnership with representatives from local Churches, businesses,
communities, and Human Service Agencies. The Partnership collaboratively
responds to the compelling health needs of Pitt County residents through
assessment, resource identification, and development, citizen advocacy,
comprehensive planning and coordination of Health Intervention and
Prevention strategies.

- Access to Health Care
- Chronic Diseases: Diabetes
- Health Promotion: Nutrition, Youth Risk Behaviors,
Tobacco Use Prevention

- "The Smile Safari" Project included the Purchase of
a Mobile Dental Unit that provides Dental Care Services to Underserved
Children.
- Development of the Diabetes CARE Project, Diabetes Screenings
and Case Management for Pitt County residents. Residents also
provided with education and screening services in Area Churches
and Church members trained to be Health Advisors. Establishment
of an Indigent Care fund to help working poor and underserved
with medical bills
- Development of a Marketing Video to be used in Public forums
and Public Access TV
- Food Literacy Partners: A Program developed to train community
members in basic Nutrition and Physical Education. Graduates must
provide 20 hours of volunteer work and are encouraged to become
Community Health Advocates
- Youth Risk Behavior Survey administered bi-annually in Pitt
County Middle Schools. Provides justification and direction for
programs and services aimed at Youth.
