Purpose of HC Training
|
| The purpose of training
is to build individual and community capacity to establish and maintain
effective community-based health initiatives. |
|
|
Goals
|
The training goals for
the Office of Healthy Carolinians/Health Education are to
- Establish and maintain an infrastructure
that supports a coordinated approach for assessing training needs,
designing learning opportunities, engaging customers and partners,
and securing resources
- design and deliver competency-based training
that enhances the knowledge and skills needed to carry out the
Healthy Carolinians process of establishing a public-private partnership
and creating an agenda for improved health and safety in local
communities
- support and evaluate learning through effective
consultation, technical assistance, and networking opportunities

Guiding Principles
|
The Office of Health Carolinians/Health
Education believes
- that the participants should be involved
as partners in the development, implementation, and evaluation
of training, and
- that systematically planned training results
in meaningful information, skill building, personal and organizational
growth, and resource development
- that training should be relevant, accessible,
and affordable

Primary Audience
- Healthy Carolinians Task Force Coordinators
- Community Health Educators working on Healthy Carolinians
- Individuals from various backgrounds and experiences assigned
leadership roles and responsibilities in carrying out the Healthy
Carolinians process for community health improvement.
Secondary Audience
- Health Directors and public health workers
- Hospital administrators and healthcare providers
- County Officials, i.e. County Manager, Commissioners,
Board of Health Members
- Health promotion program managers
- The Governor's Task Force for Healthy Carolinians
- Representatives from other community entities
to include schools, law enforcement, churches, non-profit organizations,
etc.
